• Tuesday, November 24: a strong choice for most dogs
• Wednesday, November 25: the day before, so your dog is at its freshest

Which Service to Choose Before Guests Arrive

It depends on when your dog was last groomed and how much it sheds.

If it has been more than 6 weeks: book a bath and full groom (from $75). It includes a bath, hand blow-dry, brush-out, haircut or tidy, nail trim, and ear cleaning.

If your dog sheds heavily: add a de-shedding treatment (from $30). This is the single best way to reduce hair on furniture and guests' clothes during the visit.

If your dog was groomed recently: a bath with a nail trim (from $20) is often enough. Short nails are also kinder to guests' legs when your dog jumps up to say hello.

If your dog gets nervous around crowds or new places: consider our gentle grooming service (from $85), which runs at a slower pace with extra breaks. It is better to have a calm grooming day earlier in the week than a stressful one right before the house fills up.

Keep the table food away

Cooked turkey bones, onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, chocolate, fatty skin, and heavily seasoned dishes can make dogs sick. Ask guests not to share scraps, and check with your veterinarian before offering anything from the table.

Even social dogs get tired in a busy house. Set up a quiet room with water, a bed, and a chew toy where your dog can rest away from the noise.

Watch the door

With guests coming and going, doors stay open longer. Make sure your dog wears a collar with an ID tag and that the microchip information is up to date.
